For decades, technical education in the West has drifted toward historical appreciation of math and theory and away from direct application. Most Engineers graduate without knowing how to design manufacturable assemblies, manage hardware or manufacuring processes, or navigate network routers. And those who attempt to develop Software get lost in bloated frameworks without starting out with the most basic of client-server, wide area network,  request-response architecture. The chasm between the design studio, the manufacturing plant, the shop floor, the bench technician, and the lead project engineer has never been wider.

The Postern Press exists to close the Technical Education Gaps

We publish rigorous, text-driven, appropriately illustrated, functional trade curricula, handbooks, and schematics designed for self-directed builders, trade practitioners, STEM educators, and working engineers (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Aerospace, Computer Science and more). No academic fluff. Just clear, proven execution.

The Postern Press exists to round out education that is missing for others originally tasked to support you too. 

The problems with errant curriculum and a lost higher educational system is not limited to curriculum for the Builders, Creators and Engineers.  Confusion, misdirection, and educational bloat are rampant now in the general business, accounting, finance, management, marketing, medical, veterinary, and legal fields as well. 

This has led to a situation in which the "service providers" that are needed to support the Creatives are now far more confusing and time consuming to engage with than the services they offer can cost. Saying this another way,  the "separation of work for specialization" simply doesn't work now due to faulty education of others and administrative chaos too. 

Thus "becoming a Creative" can only transpire now if you 1) give up your time and life energy to Corporations that may use your work to bury your best ideas behind intellectual property that goes unused or 2) you go it alone while "trying to become the rest of the things you needed support with too". 

To discourage the corporate path and encourage more individual pursuits, we will also publish abridged educational curriclum and information for the support areas too. It will be a "Systems Thinking" perspective to quickly get you what you need to orient in these areas too. It will not be for everyone but hopefully it will be just enough for the Systems Thinker in you.
